When using ProofID, you may provide:

Your name or organization name (optional)
1.2 Files uploaded to ProofID
When you upload a file:
We do not store the file
We only process it temporarily to generate its fingerprint (hash)
The document itself is immediately discarded
The fingerprint, timestamp, ProofID, and creator identity are stored
ProofID does not access or save the contents of your documents.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
operate and maintain the ProofID platform
generate and store document fingerprints
enable verification of previously registered files
respond to inquiries sent through our contact page
We do not sell personal data.
We do not use uploaded documents for training models or analytics.
3. Cookies & Analytics
For MVP, ProofID may use basic analytics (e.g., Google Analytics or IONOS built-in analytics) to understand website traffic.
We do not track individual users beyond this.
No advertising cookies are used.
4. Data Security
We take security seriously.

However, no system can guarantee 100% security.
5. Data Retention
We retain:
fingerprints and ProofID records indefinitely (unless the creator requests removal)
contact messages for as long as needed to respond
We do not retain original documents.

You may request:
deletion of a ProofID record you created
correction of your contact information
access to what minimal data we hold

We process data under “legitimate interest” - to provide document integrity services that users request.
8. Children
ProofID is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.
